In support of World Kidney Day (WKD), which aims to raise awareness on kidney diseases, especially among politicians and other stakeholders, we have asked Carmine Zoccali, the ERA-EDTA President, to comment on this disease and its threatening dimensions (850 million people worldwide are affected by kidney disease).

The ERA-EDTA Council and the whole Association would like to honour the life and achievements of Prof. François Berthoux with an In Memoriam tribute written by Prof. Christoph Mariat.
