Letter from the Congress President: join the special ERA-EDTA/Hungarian Society of Nephrology session in Budapest!

This year’s 2019 ERA-EDTA Congress is returning to Budapest. As our societies and economies are continuously changing, we would like to address of a special event: a joint session of the ERA- EDTA and the Hungarian Society of Nephrology on the first day of the Congress (Thursday, June 13 from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm) which will highlight both international and regional topics.

The programme will begin with the following question: ‘Can we talk about regional common fate in Nephrology?’ which will outline regional features of epidemiology seen in a European perspective. It will then go on to show the relation between translational science and social determinism; focusing thereafter on the origin of adult diseases which originate in childhood. The closing session will be dedicated to a complete historical overview from the Hungarian perspective starting from Korányi’s works to the most recent achievements. The choice of speakers and chairpersons reflects both regional and general perspectives, allowing the programme to be much more interesting.

Take part in this joint session during the Congress and recommend it to the members of your national society. Let’s explore the latest innovations, news and developments together. You will have the chance to be part of the discussions while being in a friendly atmosphere in the heart of Budapest.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to this joint session of the ERA-EDTA and the Hungarian Society of Nephrology at the 2019 Congress in Budapest!!

Best wishes,
Prof. George Reusz
President of the 56th ERA-EDTA Congress
