The ERA-EDTA 2018 programme included 24 educational courses organised in 17 different countries.
The programme covered a wide spectrum of topics: from epidemiology to pathology and renal biopsy, from nutrition and diabetes to physical exercise, but also genetics and nephropathies, dialysis and transplantation.

Following the many educational events that ERA-EDTA has been supporting since 2002, in 2018 the ERA-EDTA Council decided to renew its educational offer and enhance the educational contribution given by its internal Scientific Bodies.

After having served the ERA-EDTA in the creation of diversified and comprehensive educational programmes, the ERA-EDTA Committee for CME activities, led by Prof. Loreto Gesualdo ceased its services as evaluator of educational events organised by third parties. Two new committees, validated by the ERA-EDTA Council, took over the educational activities of the ERA-EDTA: the Continuous Education & Professional Development (CEPD) Committee taking care of the educational meetings preceding the ERA-EDTA Annual Congresses and the Scientific and Educational Interaction Day (SEID) committee, evaluating educational sessions suggested by ERA-EDTA Bodies to be included in a comprehensive event to be held annually starting from 2019.
