Scope

To assist shared decision-making on the management of older individuals (>65 years of age) with CKD stage 3b or higher (eGFR <45 mL/min/1.73 m²).

Including: older individuals (>65 years of age) with CKD stage 3b or higher in both outpatient and in-hospital setting
Does not apply to: adults <65 years of age or children Focus on six major areas:

estimation of GFR for classification and drug dose adaptation
predicting rate of progression to end-stage renal disease
prognosticating risk of death in the medium term
assessment of functional status and strategies to improve it
assessment of nutritional status and strategies to improve it
appraisal of benefits and drawbacks of RRT versus conservative care
