This year’s theme will be Research/Education, Governance and Equality.
There will be seven main tracks for the 60th ERA congress:
- Renal physiology, urolithiasis, hereditary disorders & rare diseases in children, pregnancy
- Glomerular diseases & general clinical nephrology
- CKD – pathophysiology, epidemiology, prevention, progression, ageing
- End Stage Kidney Disease, haemodialysis, kidney function replacement therapies
- Kidney transplantation (clinical and immunology)
- Hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular risk in CKD
- AKI, intensive care nephrology

How we select our Speakers
Around 250 invited speakers from all over the world will give a global perspective on their research activities, optimized patient care, and management of kidney disease. Moreover, attention will be dedicated to Patients’ voices, perceptions and feelings.
The scientific programme features a wide choice of Plenary Lectures, Mini Lectures, Symposia, Free Communications, focussed Orals and Moderated Orals sessions covering the various aspects of basic and clinical Nephrology as well as the most recent research in the field.
Panel discussions and practical case discussions will be a new addition to the 2023 congress.
Below are the four fundamental criteria that guide us in the speaker selection:
Professional value: we select speakers whose scientific expertise is recognized worldwide.
Future potential: we select young professionals who have distinguished themselves through their research.
Communication skills: speakers must be able to communicate effectively with all our congress participants.
The speakers’ representativeness of significant clusters, both geographical and gender-related, is also important to us.
