We are delighted to announce the upcoming EuDial educational meeting 'Haemodialysis Update 2018: from basics to advances in the treatment of CKD' to be held at the Annual Meeting of the Italian Society of Nephrology (Società Italiana di Nefrologia – SIN), in Rimini (Italy) on October 3, 2018.

The aim of this CME is to address three key issues (among others) related to haemodialysis treatments:
a) insight into the haemodialysate, which has a crucial role in this treatment; however, it is usually neglected. A symposium dedicated to the haemodialysate will deal with the clinical impact of its main components, such as sodium, potassium, calcium and bicarbonate;

b) focus on the new advances in this field, such as new strategies of the haemodialysis treatment, new devices, new membranes. A symposium named “Treatment strategies” will be dedicated to these new advances;

c) exploration of some hot topics related to the frail patient on dialysis, such as the choice of dialysis or non dialysis in the elderly patient, the optimization of the vascular access in the elderly patient, the patient with congestive heart failure, the patient with neoplasia.

Two lectures 'How to include patient perspectives into clinical practice' and 'Principles of haemodialysis' will open this full-day CME Course.
