Using Technology for a More Effective Education: the E-learning Programme of the ERA–EDTA

As one of the fastest growing professional medical associations, the ERA-EDTA strives to encourage and to report advances in the field of clinical nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation and related subjects. In order to meet the demands of ERA-EDTA members and to enrich the educational offer, the Association developed an interactive, online learning programme.

The ERA-EDTA is, therefore, pleased to announce that the first e-learning course on nephrotic syndrome is now online at:

The first e-module on nephrotic syndrome was prepared under the scientific direction of Professor Claudio Ponticelli (Senior Consultant, Humanitas Hospital, Milan, Italy).
After completing the course the learner will be able to:

• Understand the main pathological aspects and the pathogenesi of primary glomerulonephritis (GN) associated with nephrotic syndrome (NS)
• Understand the different diagnosis between a particular form of GN and other possible causes of NS
• Know the natural course and prognosis of that particular GN
• Know the possible therapeutic options for that particular GN
• Apply the available information to the diagnosis and management of that specific GN

After completing the module, all learners may obtain 1 European CME credit (ECMEC).
