ERKNet, the European Reference Network for Rare Kidney Diseases, is starting a Webinar series on rare kidney diseases. As members of the ERA-EDTA Workgroup for Inherited Kidney Diseases you are most welcome to attend these interactive live educational events, which will be streamed approximately every two weeks, on Tuesdays at 4 pm CET. The Webinars are free of charge and only require prior registration. The next Webinar will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at 4:00 pm CET (3:00 pm UK time, 5:00 pm Finnish/Lithuanian time). One of WGIKD priorities is the education of the future generations of both adult and paediatric nephrologists with interest in inherited kidney diseases. A CME covering ‘Hot Topics in Tubulopathies and Metabolic Nephropathies’ will be held on May 10-11, 2018 in Heidelberg (Germany) and will be organized back to back the annual European Rare Kidney Diseases reference Network (ERKNet) meeting. It will focus on Metabolic, Stone forming diseases and tubulopathies and will be prepared in collaboration with these ERKNet working groups.

A few more days to apply for WGIKD Board membership
In December 2017, Prof. Roser Torra (Spain) and Prof. Carsten Boeger (Germany) will end their term as WGIKD Board members. We thank both for their great contribution and dedication!
We encourage all WGIKD ordinary members to consider to candidate for the election of two new Board Members.
Before applying, please read the Working Groups regulations carefully and consider that to be eligible for the Board a member must have been an ordinary member of the WG for at least 2 years (or from its creation) or have a proven track record of relevant scientific expertise that would justify his/her being part of the Board; he/she must also be an active ERA-EDTA Full member: exceptions to this last rule can only be made for non-nephrologists. In this last case, however, the country of residence must be within Europe, Countries and the Mediterranean Sea.
In order to apply, each candidate must send his/her application and CV (the use of this special template is mandatory) together with two supporting letters from two WGIKD members (Board or Ordinary members) to wgikd@era-edta.org.
The deadline to apply is February 28, 2018
