Press & Media Policy
Related to the ERA Congress 2026
I. General Rules
Any press representative (journalist, reporter, photographer, film crew member etc.) must adhere to the guidelines outlined in this policy. Everyone who applies for a press pass must acknowledge and accept the ERA Press & Media Policy.
- Press representatives who receive embargoed material must understand that it is for their individual use only and must not distribute embargoed information to anyone else before the embargo is lifted
- For any embargo-related questions, please contact the ERA Press Office (press@era-online.org) for clarification before releasing any information
- If the ERA Press and Media Policy is violated by an individual or party, ERA may seek legal action against those concerned. Furthermore, the individual or party will be asked to immediately leave the ERA Congress and will be denied access to ERA Congresses and all ERA events for the subsequent five years
- The ERA logo and the Congress logo are the property of ERA and may not be used without prior written permission. To request permission, please contact the ERA Press Office (press@era-online.org) and state how you intend to use the ERA logo
- ERA does not make its press database or registration lists available to third parties due to data privacy protection regulations
- Anyone who does not acknowledge and accept the ERA Press & Media Policy will be denied access to the ERA Congress
II. Registration
- ERA will grant press credentials to journalists employed by accredited media organisations for the purpose of editorial coverage. Official industry spokespersons, staff members and communications agents are not eligible for press registration
- Journalists must submit either a valid press or media card or, at a minimum, a letter of assignment from their editorial office verifying their attendance at the Congress
- Company or media outlet business cards, as well as membership cards, are not accepted as valid credentials
- The decision of the ERA Press Office regarding all press registration requests is final
To register as press for the ERA Congress 2026, please email the Press Office (press@era-online.org) with the following information:
- Full name
- Prefix
- Nationality
- Country
- Name of the media organisation/publication you represent
- Contact number
- Confirmation that you have read and accepted the ERA Congress 2026 Press & Media Policy: “I confirm that I have read and accepted the ERA Congress 2026 Press & Media Policy.”
IMPORTANT: You must attach a valid press or media card or, at a minimum, an appropriate letter of assignment.
All journalists attending the Congress and/or press events are encouraged to send the ERA Press Office a copy of their article within two months following the conclusion of the ERA Congress. Copies may be sent by email to press@era-online.org.
III. Social Media Guidelines
All journalists are encouraged to read and adhere to the ERA social media guidelines outlined below.
The use of social media is widely encouraged at the ERA Congress. Through social media, we aim to promote an engaged online environment that is professional, respectful and educational for all those interested in the ERA Congress. Participants are encouraged to like, comment on and share ERA social media posts, as well as to generate and share their own content.

The official hashtag of the ERA Congress 2026 is #ERA26.
General Social Media Rules
- All users may like, comment and share ERA social media content
- Comments and replies to ERA posts, as well as responses to other users’ comments under ERA posts, must be respectful, educational and constructive
- It is strictly forbidden to publish offensive, illegal, disrespectful, hateful or otherwise inappropriate comments, posts or messages
- ERA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove any comments, posts or messages it deems inappropriate or not in compliance with these General Social Media Rules. If content cannot be removed, it will be reported to the relevant social media platform for violation of that platform’s policies
- ERA does not necessarily endorse or share the views expressed by the authors of articles or materials published on its social media platforms
- ERA does not provide medical advice via social media. All information published by ERA, including on its website and social media channels, is of a general nature and must not be used for the diagnosis or treatment of specific individuals. ERA cannot engage in correspondence regarding such matters and cannot recommend or provide information about where, or from whom, to obtain healthcare services. For any medical concerns or advice, individuals should consult a doctor or another qualified healthcare professional
Congress Social Media Rules (General Social Media Rules also apply)
- We ask that comments and replies to the posts of @ERAKidney, as well as other interactions with the Congress, remain respectful toward other participants
- Pictures shared at the ERA Congress may generally be taken during scientific presentations for personal use and may subsequently be shared on social media, providing the speaker or presenter has not indicated that their content should not be shared (see guidance below). The commercial use of pictures taken during the ERA Congress is strictly prohibited
- No content from the ERA Congress that could identify a patient in any way should be presented or shared on social media
IV. Services
Press registration includes:
- Access to all sessions
- Access to the focussed orals area
- Use of the press room, which includes a working space, Wi-Fi and press materials
- Interviews arranged with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), subject to availability. Please contact the ERA Press Office at least 10 days prior to the Congress. Media representatives are not permitted to contact KOLs directly; all requests must be submitted through the ERA Press Office.
Please note that in line with ABPI compliance requirements, the Exhibition area is open exclusively to Healthcare Professionals.
V. Industry PR/Press Conferences
- To book a room for a press conference, please email: era-industry@interplan.de
- Industry representatives may distribute press releases or press kits in the Press Room. To arrange this, please email press@era-online.org
- The Press Room is not open to industry representatives and may not be used for any type of meeting
VI. Filming/Photography/Recording Policy
- Filming or recording is not allowed in the opening session, scientific sessions, the exhibition or the educational area
- Photos taken during these sessions are permitted only for personal use and/or personal social media use, providing the speaker or presenter has not indicated that their content should not be shared
- Industry partners who wish to photograph or film their booth should work with the officially appointed ERA Congress photographer
- Filming or photography in public areas (e.g., in front of the Congress building or in public corridors) is permitted, but participants’ privacy must be always respected
VII. Embargo Policy
- All accepted Abstracts are published on the ERA platform and the Congress App (before the start of the Congress). Only the Abstracts of the authors that are present at the Congress will be published in a special NDT Supplement published after the Congress (in the fall).
- Information contained in abstracts presented at the ERA Congress is embargoed until the date and time of the presentation
- Only top-line content of the abstract may be published before the Congress, solely to announce that the abstract will be presented at a specific day and time. No results or data may be published at this stage
- Information presented in oral presentations may not be released until the date and time of the presentation
- Information contained in e-posters may be released as soon as the e-posters become available
VIII. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All legal relationships between the parties relating to the ERA Press & Media Policy shall be governed exclusively by English law.
