You will be notified well in advance if you will be selected to participate in one of ERA’s exciting initiatives.

The YNP Board is pleased to present the ERA YNP Mentorship Program.

This program aims to support young professionals to improve and build a successful career in Nephrology. It consists of an exchange of experiences between the participants. The mentee is a developing junior professional or trainee, and is paired with a mentor, a senior professional who has experience in the area that the mentee is interested.

Both the mentor and the mentee should be ERA members, and the mentee should also be member of the YNP. Mentors and mentees can apply for the ERA YNP Mentorship Program year-round. The length of the program should not exceed twelve months with a time commitment of approximately 3-4 hours per month. Communication will be maintained via electronic means.

To encourage young nephrologists to submit abstracts to the ERA congresses and to publish in ERA affiliated journals (NDT, CKJ), a merit-based free-membership program was accepted by the ERA Council in 2013.

There are two tracks: the first is based on abstracts accepted at an ERA congress; the second requires an original or review publication accepted in NDT or CKJ in the current or past year.

NDT/ckj Reviewers

Would you like to experience reviewing articles as a YNP member, then please contact us at Taking part in this initiative can open other opportunities including reviewing and scoring annual congress abstracts.

These e-newsletters are circulated to all the YNP members (ERA Members under 40 years old).

Each newsletter contains various opportunities that may be of the members’ interest such as YNP initiatives, meet and greet during the annual congress, open calls, membership benefits, and others.

This collaboration is to facilitate an exchange of young, outstanding nephrologists to speak during sessions at the annual meetings of ASN|ERA and JSN|ERA. Each organization will suggest two potential speakers from their membership.
