How Does Hotel Fraud Work?
These groups promote attractive deals with local accommodation providers, but once payment has been received, the company disappears and can no longer be contacted by phone or email. Once the attendee contacts the hotel directly about their room, they realise the hotel has no record of them or their stay. Not only is their money gone, but they must also then scramble to find last-minute accommodation, which is rarely convenient to the venue.

VISA & invitation letters
ERA will provide an invitation letter after the registration to the conference is finalized and paid. This invitation letter will be available at your My ERA account. The invitation letter will be in English and may be a valid document for University, Hospital, Industry, and any other professional requirement as proof of registration. The invitation letter is NOT valid as a visa support letter.
Depending on your citizenship, you may need to obtain a visa to enter Austria. For detailed information, visit the website of the Federal Ministry , Republic of Austria, European and International Affairs: https://www.bmeia.gv.at/en/travel-stay/entrance-and-residence-in-austria/visa/
It is solely the delegate’s responsibility to investigate the visa requirements for Austria and apply for a visa, if necessary. Neither the conference organizers nor ERA will contact embassies or consulates directly on behalf of visa applicants despite embassies do request it.
The invitation letter and any necessary information needed to apply for a visa may be requested from the conference organizers’ e-mail address: visa@interplan.de
Please ensure that copies of passport, hotel & registration confirmation are enclosed to any request for visa support. Furthermore, we kindly ask you to specify which embassy is meant to receive your application (Austrian Embassy of which city/country).
Timeline
To assure a smooth process any visa should be requested at least 2 months prior to departure.
Later applications may be possible, however, neither the conference organizers nor ERA accept any liability for visa applications that are refused or not submitted in time.

Who does not need a VISA
Citizens of all countries of the European Union, Switzerland, Croatia, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, most of the countries of North and South America, members of the Schengen treaty and some other countries do not need a visa.
Simply a valid passport is required to enter Austria. In case of doubt please contact the Austrian Consulate or Embassy well in advance before departure.
Current member countries of the Schengen treaty are:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria**, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland*, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein*, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway*, Poland, Portugal, Romania**, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland*.
* non-EU members.
** Schengen Air & Sea agreement.
Who needs a VISA
Travelers from other regions kindly consult the respective Austrian or Schengen-Partner representations regarding the current status. Travelers possessing a valid visa can travel freely within the Schengen zone for three months, enabled by a Schengen visa issued by any Schengen-treaty member country.
Further information about visa regulations and Schengen visas can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
As a rule, the processing time of an admissible Schengen visa application should not exceed fifteen calendar days. If further checks are necessary, the processing time may increase to forty-five calendar days. Applications should be submitted at your earliest convenience – max. 6 months prior to arrival, and at least 4 months prior to the congress/conference.
Visa Applications received later than this date may not be processed by the respective Austrian or Schengen-Partner representations in time.

The ERA Congress promotes sustainable development and global responsibility in different ways: the aim is to encourage environmentally friendly behaviours and to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy environment for healthy kidneys.
Public transport in and around Vienna
You reach the ERA conference centre Austria Centre Vienna (ACV) via U1 (station: Kaisermühlen VIC) in only 10 minutes from the city and in 20 minutes directly from the main station. Trains depart every few minutes and provide a fast and eco friendly arrival.
How to get your ticket:
– Tickets are available via smartphone app “WienMobil” or via Website “Shop WienMobil”.
– The default single-journey fare is EUR 1,20 and is valid within vienna for 80 minutes. There are reduced options for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, and 7 days tickets.
– You can plan your trip with “WienMobil”: wienmobil.at/en/routes
– Please double-check and ensure the dates are correct when booking tickets.
Ecofriendly travel to Vienna
You can travel to Vienna not only with plane, but also via train. Please consider this possibility to save 85% of emissions and to spare the planet! To travel comfortable and sustainable by train you may use long-distance services from several European cities, booking especially via oebb.at/en.

Traveling with disabilities
Vienna’s subway network and train stations are well equipped for passengers with limited mobility. The subway stations and trains are virtually barrier-free for wheelchair users. In all stations, tactile strips show blind and visually impaired people the way to stairs, escalators and elevators.
Traveling with bicycle
The optimal cycling route to the conference center leads past the Prater, over the “Donauinsel”, and after the Danube river turns left towards the conference center. Ample bicycle parking is provided at the venue.
