How has the recognition from the ERA Awards affected your career trajectory and opportunities for collaboration?

Receiving the ERA Rosanna Gusmano Award 2025 has been a great honour and an important milestone in my development as a clinician-scientist, following my initial training in basic science. The recognition has increased the visibility of my work and facilitated new interactions with colleagues across Europe. It has also provided additional momentum to pursue future projects and further strengthened my commitment to bridging basic science and patient-oriented research.

Can you share any upcoming projects or goals you have in mind that continue to stimulate the dialogue between education and research in your field?

A central goal of my work is to bring future clinicians and basic scientists together early in their careers and to closely integrate education with ongoing research projects. Scientifically, I focus on improving our understanding and diagnostics of glomerular diseases using advanced microscopic imaging approaches. Current projects include studying glomerular injury in the context of haematological malignancies and developing translational strategies such as targeted RNA delivery to glomerular cells.
