How has the recognition from the ERA Awards affected your career trajectory and opportunities for collaboration?

Receiving the 2025 ERA Stanley Shaldon Award was both a great honour and a very personal milestone in my career as a clinician-scientist. This recognition opened doors to new European collaborations and strengthened existing partnerships. It has also given me extra confidence to pursue ambitious translational ideas and to represent Greek nephrology more actively within the European arena.

Can you share any upcoming projects or goals you have in mind that continue to stimulate the dialogue between education and research in your field?

My main goal is to translate immunological complexity at the bedside into simple, actionable tools that help clinicians care for patients with immune-mediated kidney diseases. My return home after several years abroad reflects my commitment to contributing to Greek nephrology and promoting the field through the Greek Nephrology Society. I am also dedicated to strengthening collaboration between Northern and Southern Europe and fostering research that considers regional genetic and environmental factors in glomerular diseases.
