Activity
Objectives:
- Participation in ongoing projects and involvement in the development of new projects within the research line “Food as medicine in CKD”
- Development, follow-up, and analysis of a survey investigating the use of Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition in Europe
- Revise the ERA Cookbook regarding the adequacy of the recipes and update it.
Results:
The fellowship goals were achieved, and it resulted in my participation in 7 projects and the renewal of my stay in Stockholm. Most of the projects are still ongoing.
The projects are:
- Myosteatosis and mortality in patients with CKD
- Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition in Europe: A survey assessing its use among clinical practitioners
- Postprandial changes in plasma potassium after the ingestion of a healthy potassium-rich meal in patients with chronic kidney disease
- The effect of the nutraceutical (-)- Epicatechin on myosteatosis in patients with advanced CKD: a pilot study (EPIC-CKD)
- Diagnosing malnutrition in patients on dialysis – barriers and facilitators

- The effect of uremia on the clock mechanism of skeletal muscle cells
